Losing weight, a topic that worries many in the new year

Adelgazar, un tema que preocupa a muchos en año nuevo

Worrying about excess weight after the holiday season is one of the most common New Year's resolutions for both men and women.

People are becoming less concerned with the number on the scale and more interested in being healthier, taking much more ownership of health-related decisions, which is very positive.

While it is true that effective and sustainable weight loss requires the involvement of two indispensable factors: improving eating habits and adopting regular physical activity as part of daily life.

There are also some extra natural aids that, when added to the two factors mentioned above, could support the achievement of that healthy weight.

Some of these natural active ingredients, which could help us in our goal of improving our weight through different mechanisms, are:

Green tea:

It stimulates the release of substances that act as messengers regulating hunger and satiety, intervenes in fat metabolism by preventing their absorption to a high degree, and accelerates the body's calorie expenditure.

Raspberry ketones:

These are aromatic components that, in some in vitro and in vivo studies, have demonstrated certain lipolytic activity through fatty acid oxidation. They are typically found in dietary supplements combined with other ingredients.

African mango extract:

The seed extract of this fruit may contribute to weight loss, primarily by reducing the formation of new fatty tissue; furthermore, it appears to influence leptin, the hormone responsible for regulating food intake and stimulating thermogenesis. It can also create a feeling of satiety, which could help moderate food consumption.

CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid):

In the presence of physical activity, it can increase the use of fats as an energy source, allowing the body to use this energy as a fuel substrate.

Chitosan:

A non-digestible fiber that is part of the exoskeleton of crustaceans. It appears that the mechanism of this substance is that it binds to fats, limiting their absorption to some extent; it also provides a feeling of satiety, which could help control compulsive eating.

"Always remember that dietary supplements do not replace a balanced diet and should be part of a regimen that includes all food groups."
