Homemade tomato paste

Pasta de tomate casera

It is a preparation that gets us out of a bind, as it is perfect for different recipes with that delicious and unmistakable touch.
⁣
We want to show you this delight, as an accompaniment for pasta, sandwiches, lasagnas, and potatoes.
⁣
You will need: ⁣
⁣
10 fresh, ripe tomatoes⁣
1 teaspoon of Funat ghee⁣
Half a white onion, finely chopped⁣
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped⁣
Half a red bell pepper, peeled and cut into pieces⁣
10 fresh basil leaves⁣
Salt and pepper to taste ⁣
⁣
Preparation:⁣
⁣
1️⃣ Wash and sanitize the tomatoes very well, then, with the tip of a knife, make a cross at the base; this will make it easier to remove the skin later on.⁣
⁣
2️⃣ In a pot, heat enough water to cover the tomatoes, and only add them once the water has boiled.⁣
⁣
3️⃣ Separately, in a pan, sauté the garlic, bell pepper, and onion with the ghee. Set aside.⁣
⁣
4️⃣ When you notice that the skin of the tomatoes has detached slightly, turn off the heat and, using a fork, remove the skin completely from them.⁣
⁣⁣
5️⃣ Now, place the tomatoes in the blender with the sautéed vegetables, add the basil leaves, salt, and pepper, and blend very well. If you prefer to do it in two batches, that is even better. You can balance the flavors by adding a pinch of sugar. This step is optional.⁣
⁣
6️⃣ Taste to check the balance of flavors and adjust if necessary. You can store it in a glass jar with an airtight lid, always refrigerated.⁣
⁣
7️⃣ When taking out a portion of the sauce, choose to do so with a clean, disposable spoon.⁣
⁣
Consume as soon as possible, as remember it is a homemade sauce, free of preservatives 💚
